For Parents & Teachers

Art- Contact This page is designed for parents and teachers. The information below will help guide you in making appropriate choices for a child within this specific age group.

Maturity levels of kids can vary greatly, all age groupings on this website are merely guidelines.

  • Terms of Use Agreement/Privacy Policy- Please take a look at our Terms of Use agreement page if you have not already done so. Our Privacy Policy is outlined in the first paragraph.

  • Common Sense- As with all aspects of parenting, use common sense. If your child has the potential to hurt him or herself or others with a harmonica, please think twice before handing them one.

Only YOU know the maturity and capabilities of your child. Some kids may be ready at 4 or 5 to play an instrument, some not until a few years later. But, under your patient and watchful eye, most kids of all ages can begin to experience the joys of playing a harmonica and creating music.

  • Learn Together- You both may have more fun if you and your child learn to play harmonica together. With a bit of practice, you can play simple melody duets.

  • Printed Materials- Feel free to print out any materials from this website like songs and pictures to use away from the computer. Please read our Terms of Use agreement page first.

  • Harmonica Lessons.com- The content from Harmonica4kids.com is a very small portion of our parent website, HarmonicaLessons.com.

If you and/or your child would like to continue the pursuit of harmonica playing, please consider visiting and becoming a member at Harmonica Lessons.com.

  • How to Support this website- See the above paragraph on Harmonica Lessons.com. Also, feel free to tell your friends about us and request that your other favorite kids websites add a link back to Harmonica4kids.com.

  • Other Instruments- Music is great for all ages. If your child seems to have an affinity for an instrument other than harmonica, by all means explore it. Inexpensive keyboards are also great to have around the house. Comparing the notes on a keyboard with the same notes on the harmonica is wonderful ear training.

  • Keep it simple! Make it fun!- The most important rule for teaching anything to anyone of any age. The "Fun" factor keeps 'em coming back for more.
